Founder, Board Member, Construction
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Patrick brings over 25 years of experience in general construction and electrical work. As the founder of Shanley Electrical, he built a reputation for excellence and service. His journey into ministry began through mission trips, where he witnessed the powerful impact of combining skilled trades with Christian service. Fueled by a desire to reflect Christ’s love in action, he founded Island Refuge to create safe, sustainable, and spiritually uplifting environments.
Through self-funding and leadership, Patrick has helped launch projects in Cuba and the Philippines—installing generators, building infrastructure, and offering hope. His vision includes establishing community compounds that serve both practical and spiritual needs, helping others find Jesus and learn life-changing skills. Patrick is married to Kristie and is a proud dad to Peyton, Josiah, and Zavier.

Peyton has always had a love for public speaking and sharing messages that matter. Her faith deepened in middle school through her church’s youth group, where she discovered the joy of having a personal relationship with Jesus. Now pursuing a ministry degree at Biola University, Peyton is passionate about teaching others about God’s love and plans to become a youth pastor.
As an Island Refuge Ambassador, she shares the mission both on the ground and on stage—spreading the gospel, inspiring young people, and helping others find their purpose in Jesus. Peyton is currently a youth leader and is excited to continue pouring into future generations through this ministry.
